The cherry blossoms are just beginning to bloom. They haven't fully opened yet — but in just a few days, they'll burst forth everywhere.
Last year, around this time, I sat down and talked with a close friend. She was going through a difficult time — a crumbling marriage, poor health. And she said something I can't forget:
"I read the Bible and I don't feel anything anymore. It's like reading an old book."
I understood her. Because I've been there too. There are times when Scripture feels alien — dry, dogmatic, far from real life.
But then — I don't know when — everything changed. A verse I'd read a hundred times suddenly struck a chord. I began to feel lighter. Stronger. As if my soul were being nourished from within.
Cherry blossoms don't bloom all year round. They wait for the right season — then burst forth brilliantly. Our faith is like that too.
My friend needs to be reminded that her winter will pass. That her faith is still growing — even though she can't see it yet.
That's why on March 20th — the opening day of the National Cherry Blossom Festival — I'm launching the Bloom In Faith Sale. To celebrate spring. To celebrate faith that blooms. And to give you a way to share that with someone you love.
